Match Report - July 17, 2010
Wow, it must be because either ALGC is a great place to shoot, or because I am just that good looking. ALGC IDPA program set another participation record with 75 shooters for Saturdays match. This makes all the work worth it when we get this kind of turn out. FANTASTIC!
When you get this many shooters for a match, get everyone through, cleaned up, and off the range by 3:00, there is only one explanation; GOOD HELP. Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You for everyone that helped with the match this past Saturday, I couldn’t have done it with out all of you. Everyone must have not had anything better to do Saturday, because we had a lot of help. Thank You. A special thanks’ to Rudy for working the kitchen on short notice. A Big thanks to 2 little people with big desires to help; Gino Lavalle and Hunter Mcjunkin. These two boys helped me set up on Friday night for the entire evening. Thanks boys.
I really have been noticing some regular shooters who are starting to pick up the pace. What a match between the now famous twins Beth and Amanda Caplinger, .11 sec difference between the two. This goes to show you that every little thing can make a difference. We had two more gals from Woman On Target shoot; Valerie Booth and Tiffany Noe. Great to see you girls participating in the sport. They both had some ammo problems which led to several malfunctions, but this will be corrected by the August match. And finally, who I think is the youngest IDPA competitor ever at ALGC; 9 year old Gino Lavalle. Gino shot his very first IDPA match and looks like he will be a fierce competitor very soon. Gino took a few people to school on stage one and showed them how a 66 lb person can run a shotgun, then transition to his S&W M&P 9mm to finish it off, all in 40 seconds with only 4 points down. Great Job!
